Our Founding
Alfred Ledoux had a vision to create a metallurgical laboratory built on conscientious business methods and precise technical work. In 1880, he founded Ledoux & Co. in a small, rented space in New York City. Initially, the company provided consulting and assaying services to the mining and exploration industries, analyzing gold, silver, base metals, and other metallurgical staples.
Our Evolution
Over the years, Ledoux & Co. has grown and adapted. Due to increasing rental costs, Alfred Ledoux Jr. relocated the laboratory to Teaneck, NJ in 1953, expanding our scientific portfolio to assay most elements on the periodic table. In April 2024, we moved to a state-of-the-art facility in Rockaway, NJ, setting ourselves up for future growth. Almost 150 years after our founding, we remain committed to Alfred Ledoux Sr.’s vision of scientific excellence. As a family-owned, independent laboratory, we deliver unbiased and accurate assays.
